Protective Silage Covers / Nets

Poorly preserved silage could lose up to 5% units of DMD and have low intake characteristics.

Many farmers are moving away from covering pits with tyres and/or farmyard manure to using Silage Protective Covers and Gravel Bags. Silage pits can be covered quicker and more effectively using these heavy duty covers/nets. These covers are resistant to acids and chemicals, rot proof and fungus free. Long Life span with uv stability of up to 10 years.

Place the gravel bags along all edges of the pit, ie both front and back faces and along the two sides. Also place the gravel bags at 5m intervals across the pit. This system of covering your silage pit provides excellent protection against bird attack. Protective silage cover/nets and the gravel bags keep your silage and covers clean and free of any contaminants.
This system makes the job of covering your silage pit far easier and also saves both time and labour when it comes to feed-out.
